!Jim.png # Jim _Bard | Summer Court Junior Ambassador | Feywild_ ## Summary Bard, instigator, secret prince, and reluctant servant of Queen Titania. One of the Heroes of Waterdeep who adventured through the War of the Fey. Jim's Feywild career featured clutch magical saves, shocking betrayals, chaotic drama-stirring, and the late revelation that his father was Manitou — making him the literal brother of Pellowea and a true prince of the Feywild. Despite this noble blood, Jim spent most of the campaign trying to start a revolution, betraying Titania to help Mab attack her, getting bound to the Summer Court forever as punishment, claiming Graz'zt's purple book to taunt his allies, being driven mad in the Abyss, turning into a Gold Dragon to fight a Howling Dragon, and getting thrown into the Flesh Pens of Aralu for being annoying. Appointed junior ambassador to the Shadow Court under Eris Bloom. %% ## At a Glance _Historical NPC from War of the Fey. Fill in if he becomes relevant again._ ## Personality A walking contradiction — brilliant and infuriating in equal measure. Capable of casting Forcecage on Manshoon at exactly the right moment to save the entire party, then immediately pivoting to using a demon lord's book to demand secrets about his allies just to taunt them. Harbored genuine revolutionary ideals that he pursued with all the strategic wisdom of someone who thought helping Mab attack Titania was a good idea. Charmed the Cannibal Queen Jasmine with his music and was still thrown into the Flesh Pens for being demanding and annoying — possibly the most Jim outcome imaginable. His heart-to-hearts with Lia suggested depth; his psychic outing of Pellowea to Titania suggested he couldn't help himself. ## Quote _"I have a plan. You're not going to like it."_ ## Background **The Clutch Caster:** Proved his value early by trapping Manshoon in a Forcecage during a devastating meteor swarm attack at the Emerald Toad inn, forcing the wizard to plane shift to escape. Later used the same spell to neutralize Koschei and the Bonfire King, Jasmine's majordomo. In pure combat utility, Jim was one of the party's most valuable members. **The Failed Revolution:** Jim wanted to tear down the Fey Courts. When Mab arrived to kill an exhausted Titania after the Emerald Toad incident, Jim didn't defend the Summer Queen — he joined Mab's attack. This horrified the rest of the party and backfired spectacularly when Titania woke up, turned into a Gold Dragon, and drove Mab off. As punishment, Titania bound Jim to serve the Summer Court forever. So much for the revolution. **Death and Resurrection:** Killed by the death screech of Baba Yaga's Dancing Hut. During his resurrection, Jim experienced a vision of Titania offering him the choice to return as a goblin, halfling, or half-orc. He begged the Queen to intervene and let him return as himself. She reluctantly agreed. **The Gold Dragon:** Titania tasked Jim with rescuing her daughter Orchid and granted him a single use of True Polymorph. Jim immediately became a massive Gold Dragon and fought an aerial battle against Arkexes Woe's demons and the Howling Dragon Ziverrayr. "Jim the Dragon" ordered Lia to get Orchid to safety. Orchid was annoyed because she could take care of herself. **The Purple Book:** Jim claimed Graz'zt's mysterious purple book and used it to demand secrets about Kali and Xyrbwynn, then taunted them with what he learned. The book vomited out five pages of campaign secrets and explicitly revealed that Graz'zt was on the other side of it. The book also claimed Jim secretly served Tharizdun, which Jim denied. When Eris Bloom noticed the book was signed by Graz'zt, the Ambassador outed Jim to Titania and Oberon, causing the book to end up in Xyrbwynn's hands. **The Instigator:** Used his psychic abilities to reveal to Pellowea that he knew her secret identity, then outed her to Queen Titania. Discussed with Lia whether Kali would help him destroy all the courts or just the Shadow Court. Had a heart-to-heart with Lia about the nature of devastation orbs. Every conversation with Jim contained the possibility of either genuine insight or catastrophic betrayal. **A Prince of the Feywild:** Baba Yaga revealed that Jim's father was Manitou — brother of Oberon, husband of Mab, father of Pellowea, and the most powerful Archfey in existence. This made Jim the literal brother of Queen Pellowea and a prince of the Feywild. The revolutionary who wanted to tear down the courts turned out to be royalty. **Abyssal Madness:** In Pale Night's Bone Castle in the Abyss, the endless mirror maze drove Jim to madness. He hallucinated a vision of Titania lying dead with Jim holding the bloody knife. The maddened bard attacked his own friends before being subdued. **The Flesh Pens:** During the party's infiltration of Aralu, Jim charmed Jasmine the Cannibal Queen with his music. Despite the successful performance, he proved to be so demanding and annoying that she threw him into the Flesh Pens anyway. There he found the Guru, and together with Eris Bloom, they found a measure of peace through music. **Junior Ambassador:** Appointed junior ambassador to the Shadow Court under Eris Bloom's tutelage, in recognition of his service to the Summer Court. Given a magic instrument by Titania. %%
