He has spent his life working to free a woman he can barely remember. **Taken:** He was eight or nine when [[Vanifer]] held him hostage beneath the [[Weeping Colossus]] and killed him with a meteor swarm; [[Phase]] brought him back. Years later [[Baba Yaga]] took him and demanded a life from the family, and [[Kali Firesong|Kali]] offered hers. He was the lever three separate powers reached for, and he knows it. **The Gift:** It woke at fifteen — a diminished, involuntary version of the prophecy [[Belaam|Owynn]] earned out of forbidden texts and traded on. Images sit around people's heads: a crown of ash, a door where there is no door, two shadows on a one-shadow wall. He can read perhaps half of them, and the ones he reads come true without exception and without regard to what anyone does about them. He sees nothing at all around himself. He sees them around devils. He cannot interpret his own — something else could. **Candlekeep:** He went from that childhood into the library and has stayed thirty years. Devils are bound by theirs and devils escape theirs, on flawed language and standing and technicality, and it is all documented. If a signature can be undone then so can a vision.
