[[Fae Duskdancer]] told [[Sister Garaele]] he'd become a Soulmonger like [[Petra]], which left her troubled. He races [[Valindra Shadowmantle]] and [[Vorthain Crimsonthorn]] to find a cure, and his search points toward [[Old Skull Tor]]. %% ## Now Aboard the [[Crimson Terror]]. He asked [[Garaele]] for passage north to [[Old Skull Tor]] to find a copy of [[Acererak]]'s [[Tome of Unlife]] — he knows it is in the northern mountains, not exactly where. He knows Acererak placed powerful wards on every copy and expects getting past them to be difficult and dark, but he does not know the Rite or its price. Since [[Petra]] described the chamber he also knows [[Tashara]] holds [[Nathaly Kormallis]]'s body in the same place, and he wants to get there quickly. He asked to teleport the [[Ring of Winter]] to [[Laeral Silverhand]] and was refused, allowed only to consult her (S90). ## Appearance Towering frame, skin like weathered parchment, necromantic sigils that glow beneath it when souls are near. His hands tremble when he isn't actively controlling them. ## Personality Intensely remorseful, academically brilliant, desperately controlled. He keeps detailed journals of every soul he's consumed, believing remembrance might lead to their release. His hoarse whisper splits into overlapping voices when he's agitated. ## Quote _"I remember every name. He fled [[Red Wizards|Thay]] with critical research. **The Cindersworn:** He proved himself in the fellowship's campaign against the [[Red Wizards]] at [[Gauntlgrym]] and formed an unlikely bond with [[Grimna Blackaxe]]. **The Transformation:** After the fellowship dissolved following Grimna's sacrifice, he retreated into hermitage.
