# Carrota Alagondar
_Tiefling Rebel Leader | [[Storm of Alagondar]] | [[Neverwinter]]_
## Summary
The last heir to [[Neverwinter]]'s royal [[House Alagondar]], reborn as a blue-skinned Levistus tiefling after dying in battle against [[Tharizdun]]'s cultists. Originally known as "Carrot," he served as [[Rat]]'s bodyguard aboard the [[Scurvy Sea Lion]] before his death fighting [[Yngukulub the Devourer]] on [[Mintarn]]. Now leads the militant [[Storm of Alagondar]] rebellion against [[Dagult Neverember]], waging guerrilla war from [[Neverwinter Wood]].

## Now
Leading the [[Storm of Alagondar]] from [[Neverwinter Wood]], waging guerrilla war against [[Dagult Neverember]]. His mere existence delegitimizes Neverember's rule, and the [[Whispered Watch]] has standing orders to capture or kill him.
## Appearance
Towering figure with blue skin, silver hair, and smoldering yellow eyes, his muscular form clad in worn, battle-scarred armor bearing the [[House Alagondar]] symbol on the pauldron. Speaks in a deep, gravelly voice with anger simmering beneath.
## Personality
Driven by intense resolve, charismatic but gruff. Inspires fierce loyalty though his anger alienates potential allies. Believes peaceful protest only works when backed by a credible threat of violence. Instinctively flexes his hands as if holding a sword and narrows his eyes weighing others' loyalty.
## Quote
_"I was reborn in fire and blood, not to kneel before a usurper, but to reclaim what was stolen—our city, our freedom."_
## Connections
**[[Rat]]** — served as his bodyguard aboard the [[Scurvy Sea Lion]]; performed an interpretive dance of his death at the reincarnation ritual.
**[[Bussy]]** — buried himself under Carrota's corpse during the reincarnation ritual.
**[[Dagult Neverember]]** — usurper of Neverwinter who captured and tortured him for decades; his sworn enemy.
**[[Auruiel]]** — attempted a heart-to-heart about how his old friends treat him.
## Background
**Noble Origins:** Born into [[Waterdeep]] nobility, raised by the Thann family with his true [[House Alagondar]] lineage hidden. After learning his heritage, he abandoned noble life to become bodyguard to the pirate [[Rat]] and fight the [[Cult of the Dragon]], concealing his bloodline even from his closest companions.
**Death and Rebirth:** Killed during battle against [[Tharizdun]]'s cultists and [[Yngukulub the Devourer]] on [[Mintarn]]. The party's reincarnation ritual — featuring [[Rat]]'s interpretive dance of his death and [[Bussy]] burying himself under the corpse — brought him back as a blue-skinned Levistus tiefling. The transformation haunts him, and he fears the demon-touched form undermines his claim, which Neverember's propaganda exploits.
**Capture and Liberation:** Captured and tortured by [[Dagult Neverember]] for decades until rescued by the [[Sons of Alagondar]]. Now leads the militant [[Storm of Alagondar]] with brutal but effective methods.

### Traits
**Reborn Resolve.** Advantage on saves against being Frightened. Once per Short Rest, the first hit that would drop Carrota leaves him at 1 hit point instead.
**Sneak Attack (1/Turn).** Carrota deals an extra 21 (6d6) damage when he hits with a weapon attack and has Advantage, or when the target is within 5 feet of an ally of his.
**Indomitable (2/Day).** Carrota rerolls a failed saving throw.
### Actions
**Multiattack.** Carrota makes three *Alagondar Greatsword* attacks, or two attacks and uses *Rally the Storm*.
**Alagondar Greatsword.** *Melee Attack Roll:* +10, reach 5 ft. *Hit:* 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage, plus 7 (2d6) cold damage while Carrota is above half his hit points.
**Rally the Storm (Recharge 5–6).** Each ally within 30 feet who can see or hear Carrota gains 15 temporary hit points and Advantage on their next attack before his next turn.
### Bonus Actions
**Cunning Action.** Carrota takes the Dash, Disengage, or Hide action.
### Legendary Actions
Carrota can take 2 legendary actions, used at the end of another creature's turn; regained at the start of his turn.
**Reposition.** Carrota moves up to his Speed without provoking Opportunity Attacks.
**Blade Strike.** Carrota makes one *Alagondar Greatsword* attack.
### Notes
**Design target (CR 13):** benchmarks AC 18 / HP 210 / DC 17 / attack +11. Attack at +10 is intentional; his burst comes from Sneak Attack (~+21 once/turn) plus the +7 cold rider while above half HP, pushing round-one damage above table for a striker boss (round 1 ≈ 85 with a Blade Strike legendary). Falls off below half (loses the cold rider) — pair him with the *Storm of Alagondar* so *Rally the Storm* and flanking matter. No legendary resistance: hard control (Banishment, Hold Person, Wall) shuts him down, the honest cost of a martial boss. His anger is a lever — taunts about the throne, [[Dagult Neverember]], or his tiefling form goad him out of good position.
