During [[Vulkazar]]'s devastating attack on the [[Shadowtop Cathedral]], he helped [[Garrett Stormhawk]] to his feet amid the flames—then both were lured into the [[Dire Wood]] by [[Dawn]], one of [[Nymara]]'s extensions, who appeared through the smoke offering false promises of safety. [[Nymara]] offered [[Astra]] dangerous bargains: [[Gunther Boomfizzle|Gunther]]'s freedom in exchange for her capacity to love, and [[Elowen Thiltosh]]'s release for the right to give [[Astra]] a new name. The final confrontation came in a frozen clearing where the [[Maiden of the Moon]] held her spear to a beaten [[Gunther Boomfizzle|Gunther]]'s head, demanding the truth: did [[Astra]] love him? Fresh bruises and half-healed cuts from his captivity haven't dimmed his manic energy. ## Personality Brilliant, obsessive, desperately optimistic. Talks too fast when nervous—which is always around [[Astra]]. Channels rejection and loneliness into invention; every gadget is a problem he can solve when people are problems he can't. Genuinely brave when it matters—he threw himself into burning ruins to help [[Garrett Stormhawk]]. Believes love is something you earn through grand gestures and persistence. Found family in the [[Red Daggers]], where his talent for "making things go boom" earned him a place. He must use the new roll.
