As the campaign wore on she stopped being only a protectee — she confronted [[Strahd von Zarovich]] to his face in the storm, named his crimes, and told him he had never truly loved her. [[Strahd von Zarovich]] coveted her; to win her and immortality he murdered Sergei on their wedding day. Rather than be Strahd's, Tatyana threw herself from the walls of [[Castle Ravenloft]]. Her soul has reincarnated in Barovia ever since, and Strahd has pursued each incarnation without ever winning it. **Yasmine Strazni.** Born Yasmine to Hans and Ruxandra, she was lost as a child at [[Lake Zarovich]] when a dire wolf attacked her family — the same attack that maimed her brother [[Izek Strazni]]. Never found, presumed dead, she was later discovered in the woods and adopted by [[Kolyan Indirovich]], who raised her as Ireena Kolyana. Her birth parents took their own lives in grief. **The protectee.** [[Ismark]] recruited the party to guard her after their father died from the strain of Strahd's siege. Strahd attacked the family estate repeatedly, once charming Icarus into inviting him in. [[Izek Strazni]] — her lost brother, now Strahd's enforcer — abducted her in [[Vallaki]]; the party recovered her. **Freedom.** At [[Krezk]]'s holy pool an apparition of [[Sergei von Zarovich]] named her as Tatyana reborn. She came to embrace that history without being ruled by it. At the [[Amber Temple]], having lived every one of her deaths during Azalin's ritual, she refused [[Zhudun, the Corpse Star|Zhudun the Corpse Star]]'s offered crown and walked out free. %%
