He met the party in the [[Barovia (Village)|village]] tavern and asked them to protect his sister from [[Strahd von Zarovich]], then traveled with them across much of the campaign. He was killed by Strahd during the fight at [[Krezk]]. %% ## Now _Concluded._ Killed by Strahd in the mud at Krezk, moments before the vampire himself was destroyed. ## Appearance A weary young nobleman in travel-worn clothes, carrying the strain of having buried a father and shielded a sister for months. ## Personality Earnest, protective, and out of his depth. He knew he couldn't save Ireena alone and had the sense to ask for help. Loyal to his sister above himself. ## Connections **[[Ireena]]** — sister; his reason for recruiting the party. **[[Kolyan Indirovich]]** — father, the late burgomaster. ## Background **The request.** His father [[Kolyan Indirovich]] died worn down by the strain of defending [[Ireena]] from [[Strahd von Zarovich]]. Ismark met the party at the [[Blood of the Vine Tavern]], enlisted them to help bury his father and protect his sister, and joined the effort himself. **The journey.** He traveled with the party through [[Vallaki]] and toward [[Krezk]], surviving Strahd's early assaults and Izek's abduction of Ireena. **Death.** When Strahd descended on [[Krezk]] to claim Ireena, he killed Ismark before the party brought him down. Ismark did not live to see Strahd fall. %%
