Now voluntarily serves under King [[McMickey]]'s stewardship as self-imposed penance. [[Wade]] interrogated them about the [[City of Brass]]—their rage at seeing [[Iblis]]'s emblem led them to inadvertently reveal [[Cirrishade]]'s name. [[House Xorlarrin]] recently attempted to capture them using an [[Iron Flask]] for [[Zalto]]'s [[Vonindod]] plans, but the heroes recovered the flask and stopped the shadow demons. %% ## At a Glance Towering cyclonic pillar of white-hot flame with molten gold eyes reflecting ancient resentment. Creates intricate flame patterns reminiscent of musical compositions. Communicates through rumbling vibrations translating to thought rather than speech—manifests tremors and temperature changes reflecting emotional states. ## Personality Deeply contemplative, quietly remorseful, fiercely independent despite voluntary service. Hates both [[Ashur Ban]] and [[Iblis]] as tyrants, though memories of [[Cirrishade]]'s kindness remain vivid and painful. ## Quote _"True freedom comes not from absence of service, but from choosing whom and how one serves."_ ## Background Originally bound to power the [[City of Brass]], treated merely as a resource despite providing essential energy. The demon lord [[Lashpera]] manipulated their isolation, posing as a radiant efreeti offering companionship while poisoning them against the city's rulers. When [[Iblis]] launched his coup, Maegera's withdrawal of support proved decisive—centuries of resentment erupting as they accused [[Ashur Ban]]: "You built your city on my power but never once saw me as your equal." Only after [[Iblis]]'s victory did [[Lashpera]] reveal her true demonic form. The betrayal was compounded by witnessing [[Iblis]] strike down [[Cirrishade]]—the one being who had shown genuine kindness—as she tried to free the primordial. [[Iblis]] then enslaved Maegera under brutal conditions. After eventually breaking free and fleeing to Faerûn, Maegera was discovered by Delzoun dwarves and contained within [[Gauntlgrym]]. Now they voluntarily serve as penance, choosing purpose over freedom. %%
