# Malakar Darkblade
_Human Mercenary Captain | [[Dragon's Bane]] | [[Mintarn]]_
## Summary
Captain of the corrupted [[Dragon's Bane]] mercenary company who now calls himself the "Dragon-King of [[Mintarn]]." This legendary dragon hunter betrayed everything he once stood for—wears armor made from metallic dragon scales and forces a young silver dragon, Argentius the Skyward, to serve as his mount through magical bindings gifted by [[Valthrax Leerstrom]].

## At a Glance
Tall and imposing with dark hair slicked back and piercing green eyes gleaming with ambition. Elaborate armor crafted from silver and gold dragon scales, topped with a crude crown made from dragon teeth. Always accompanied by Argentius, chained in magical bonds.
Speaks in grandiose proclamations, constantly using royal titles for himself. Demands formal address from subordinates.
## Personality
Despicably cruel, desperately needy for validation, boldly ambitious to the point of delusion. Cannot tolerate being ignored or dismissed. Flies into rage when his "royal authority" is questioned.
## Quote
_"Behold Argentius the Skyward, noble steed of the Dragon-King! Even the children of Bahamut bow before my rightful authority!"_
## Background
Began as genuinely skilled dragon hunter under [[Drogan Steelheart]]'s leadership. [[Valthrax Leerstrom]] identified him as most susceptible to corruption through ambition and vanity. When the previous captain opposed the cult's influence, Malakar orchestrated his murder and seized leadership, transforming [[Dragon's Bane]] from protectors into metallic dragon hunters for the [[Cult of the Dragon]]. Their greatest "achievement" was tracking down [[Hoondarrh]], whose remains became the vessel for [[Vulkazar]]'s resurrection.
[[Evendor Starbane]] views him as a useful but disposable tool with no intention of allowing a delusional mercenary to establish a true kingdom.
## Stats
**Champion** with dragon-scale armor (+2 AC), mounted combat abilities
