His heroic story took a dark turn when he arrived at [[Trollskull Manor]] behaving strangely—[[J.B. Nevercott]] (actually [[Jarlaxle Baenre]]) killed him, revealing an intellect devourer had been controlling him. Despite this compromise by the [[Mind Flayer]] conspiracy, he was ultimately remembered as one of the good ones. Died heroically in the final battle against [[Graz'zt]] and the [[Demon Lords]], standing alongside [[Mirt]], [[Durnan]], and [[Hlam]] in the desperate defense of [[Waterdeep]].
