She saw his death not as loss but as opening — a vacancy she moved to fill within days. Unamused by intruders, immune to Fabio's charm, and confident in her own power right up until it failed her. ## Connections **[[Strahd von Zarovich]]** — her lord and maker; his first bride. **[[Council of Blood]]** — the faction she assembled and led. ## Background **The first burgomaster.** Centuries ago Sasha Ivliskova governed Barovia. She went to [[Castle Ravenloft]] to confront Strahd and never came back — becoming his first bride instead. **The Ascension Ritual.** After Strahd's death she gathered the [[Council of Blood]] — former brides, consorts, and powerful vampire spawn — and declared herself Vampire Lord. Her attack on the [[Barovia (Village)|village]] slaughtered the soulless and captured the souled, whose souls were spent to power a ritual meant to make her the new Dark Lord of Barovia. A Blood Offering from the Council had already made her far stronger; to finish, she needed the blood of an innocent ([[Shadowfoot Blackthorn]]) and of a descendant of Strahd ([[Arabelle]]). **Destruction.** The party assaulted the castle and confronted the Council in the audience hall. Sasha's Destructive Wave dropped three heroes to zero, but [[Shadowfoot Blackthorn]]'s summoned cattle turned the fight — two cows landed critical hits and one trampled Sasha to death.
