![[BhaalPathfinder-v1.webp]] # Bhaal *God, God of Murder | The Dead Three | Gehenna* ## Summary [[Bhaal]], the Lord of Murder, is the god of assassination, violent death, and murder. He represents the act of killing for its own sake, the thrill of taking a life, and the inevitability of violent death. His symbol is a skull surrounded by teardrops, and he is worshipped by assassins, murderers, and those who deal death professionally. [[Bhaal]] teaches that death is the ultimate destination of all life, that murder is a sacred act that brings one closer to this fundamental truth, and that fear of death gives killers power over their victims. He delights in creative methods of murder and views each killing as an offering to his dark glory. [[Bhaal]] forms part of the Dead Three alongside [[Bane]] and Myrkul, representing the trio of tyranny, murder, and death. ## Stats *Official bestiary stat block — Minsc and Boo's Journal of Villainy, p. 93.* *God of Murder — two avatar forms: the Slayer (Medium Humanoid) and the Ravager (Huge Beast). Audible up to 100 feet away. **Spiky Carapace (Costs 2 Actions).** The ravager flares and elongates its spines. *Dexterity Saving Throw:* DC 21, any creature that starts its turn within 5 feet of the ravager. *Failure:* 44 (8d10) Piercing damage. *Success:* Half damage. ### Notes **Combat rhythm.** Bhaal opens in Slayer form: Prey on the highest-HP target turn 1, Assassinate-crit anyone caught flat-footed. Burn legendary actions on Finish to murder bloodied targets. Once Prey-marked target drops, spend 3 LA to shift to Ravager — now you have an HP-max-reducing Bite-grapple combo and the Cull the Weak instakill threshold. Spiked Hide punishes grapplers; Smash punishes clumped parties. **Avatar respawn.** Killing the Ravager doesn't kill Bhaal — he reforms as the Slayer within 24 hours, 2d6 miles away. Plan the campaign around this. **Source.** *Minsc and Boo's Journal of Villainy*, pp. 93–95.
