# Myrkul
*God, God of Death and the Dead | The Dead Three | Bone Castle*
## Summary
Myrkul, the Lord of Bones, is the god of death, decay, old age, exhaustion, and the dead. He represents the inevitable end that awaits all living things and the transition from life to death. His symbol is a white human skull, and he's worshipped by necromancers, those who traffic with undead, and people who have accepted death's inevitability. Myrkul teaches that death is the natural end of life, that the dead deserve respect and remembrance, and that undeath can serve useful purposes when properly controlled.
Myrkul forms part of the Dead Three alongside [[Bane]] and [[Bhaal]], representing the trio of tyranny, murder, and death. Unlike [[Bhaal]] who revels in violent killing, Myrkul focuses on death's aftermath and the power that can be drawn from the boundary between life and death. His followers often serve as undertakers, tomb guardians, and researchers of necromantic arts.
