She is magic personified—every spell cast draws upon her power, and every wizard, sorcerer, and magical practitioner touches her domain. Her symbol is a circle of seven stars, and she's worshipped by all who use arcane magic. Mystra teaches that magic should be preserved and shared responsibly, that the Weave connects all things, and that magical knowledge belongs to those who can use it wisely. Mystra has died and been reborn multiple times throughout history. The original goddess Mystryl died during Karsus's folly when the Netherese wizard tried to steal her power. Each incarnation has worked to maintain the balance of magic and prevent its misuse. She opposes those who would corrupt or destroy magic itself, seeing the Weave as essential to the fabric of reality.
