She represents the beneficial aspects of the night - the gentle moonlight that guides travelers, the stars that aid navigation, and the protective watch she keeps over those who travel in darkness. Her symbol is a pair of eyes surrounded by seven stars, and she is worshipped by sailors, navigators, lycanthropes seeking to control their curse, and those who work or travel at night. [[Selûne]] teaches that darkness need not be feared when one has guidance, that change is natural and should be embraced, and that protection can be found even in the most dangerous circumstances. She stands in eternal opposition to her sister [[Shar]], representing hope and guidance against despair and loss. [[Selûne]] was responsible for splitting the corrupted goddess [[Tyche]] during the Dawn Cataclysm, creating both [[Tymora]] and [[Beshaba]].
