He wields a massive flaming sword and is prophesied to one day burn the world in a great conflagration that will remake everything in fire. [[Surtur]] values strength, craftsmanship, and the forge above all else, teaching that through fire and metal, true power is achieved. He demands that his followers prove their worth through acts of creation and destruction, forging mighty weapons while conquering their enemies. [[Surtur]] represents both the creative and destructive aspects of fire - the forge that creates legendary weapons and the flames that consume entire civilizations. [[Surtur]]'s favor is desperately sought by Duke [[Zalto]], who believes that rebuilding the [[Vonindod]] dragon-slaying construct will prove his worthiness to both [[Surtur]] and [[Annam]]. The Fire Lord once intervened directly in mortal affairs by slaying the first [[Storvald]] and imprisoning [[Naskadi]] when their reign of terror threatened to corrupt all giantkind. [[Zalto]]'s forges at [[Ironslag]] burn in [[Surtur]]'s name, and the duke's obsession with capturing [[Maegera]] or finding alternative power sources stems from his belief that only through creating the ultimate weapon can he earn his god's blessing and restore fire giant dominance.
