![[TychePic.png]] # Tyche *God, Former Goddess of Fortune | None | N/A (Destroyed)* ## Summary **Tyche**, Lady Luck, was the ancient goddess of fortune who embodied both good and bad luck in perfect balance. She represented the dual nature of chance—fortune could smile or frown with equal measure, and all beings experienced both triumph and disaster throughout their lives. Tyche was worshipped by those who understood that luck was neither purely good nor purely bad, but simply the natural ebb and flow of fate. During the Dawn Cataclysm, Tyche became corrupted by unknown forces. Her balanced nature twisted into something malevolent, forcing [[Selûne]] to take drastic action. [[Selûne]] split the goddess into two separate entities: [[Tymora]], who got all of Tyche's beneficial aspects of good fortune, and [[Beshaba]], who contained all the corruption and bad luck. The struggle in [[Yartar]] between [[Tymora]]'s faithful and [[Beshaba]]'s [[Doombringers]] shows Tyche's legacy—two halves of what was once whole, forever locked in opposition, each trying to prove their philosophy of fortune is superior.
