### Traits
**Astral Tether.** As long as both the dreamweaver and a target maintain concentration round to round, and the dreamweaver has both hands free to play a musical instrument, the target can project its astral body into the Astral Plane as if it were a target of *astral projection*.
**Bardic Inspiration (5/Day).** As a Bonus Action, the dreamweaver gives one creature it can see within 60 feet a d10 inspiration die. Within the next 10 minutes, that creature can roll the die and add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw (declared after the roll, before the DM announces success).
**Nightmare (1/Day).** When the dreamweaver hits a creature with an attack, it can use this feature to instantly make the target fall asleep and dream a terrifying dream. The creature falls Prone and Unconscious. At the end of the dreamweaver's next turn, the target wakens and takes 27 (5d10) Psychic damage as it reels from the experience.
**Song of Rest.** If the dreamweaver sings a lullaby during a short rest, any ally that hears it and spends Hit Dice at the end of the rest regains an extra 2d6 hit points. The dreamweaver can confer this on itself.
**Spellcasting.** The dreamweaver is an 11th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 16, +8 to hit with spell attacks). It has the following bard spells prepared:
- Cantrips (at will): *dancing lights*, *mage hand*, *minor illusion*, *prestidigitation*
- 1st level (4 slots): *faerie fire*, *feather fall*, *silent image*, *sleep*
- 2nd level (3 slots): *calm emotions*, *detect thoughts*, *suggestion*
- 3rd level (3 slots): *fear*, *hypnotic pattern*, *major image*
- 4th level (3 slots): *confusion*, *hallucinatory terrain*
- 5th level (2 slots): *dream*, *modify memory*
- 6th level (1 slot): *mass suggestion*
### Actions
**Multiattack.** The dreamweaver makes two attacks with its scythe.
**Scythe.** *Melee Attack Roll:* +2, reach 10 ft. *Hit:* 6 (2d6 - 1) Slashing damage plus 5 (2d4) Psychic damage.
### Description
Some musicians focus on dreams — soothing sleepers, inducing nightmares, even tethering an astral body. Such a one is the dreamweaver. The path doesn't come naturally; it demands an objectivity and focus most humanoids lack. The mentally gifted, two-headed, and innately magical walk it more easily, and rumor speaks of an order of dreamweaver ettins. Elven fey ancestry shrugs off many of their tricks — a fact dreamweavers find endlessly frustrating.
- **Personality.** Most people find me odd and have the strange feeling they've seen me somewhere before.
- **Ideal.** In dreams, we find out who we really are.
- **Bond.** I am an explorer, and the greatest uncharted frontier is the mind.
- **Flaw.** Do you find me unsettling? You will.
### Notes
The CR is misleading — this is a control caster with 11th-level slots. *Hypnotic pattern* round 1, *fear* round 2, then Nightmare for the burst. Don't get distracted by the +2 scythe; the dreamweaver is a save-engine, not a melee. *Modify memory* and *dream* are downtime/villain tools.
